Welcome to Pilkingtons

Pilkingtons Bar, Terrace and Kitchen is an orangery bursting with vibrant colour and texture.

We are proud to announce that Des Harris has joined us as our Executive chef, working with our head chef and the team. Having become one of New Zealand’s first 3 hat chefs during his time at prestige restaurant Clooney, and getting awarded as ‘Chef of the Year 2013’ - we are excited about the new menu he has created for Pilkingtons and our customers.

“I’m excited to be joining Pilkingtons in this gorgeous space. At Pilkingtons I’m looking forward to re-establishing my creative edge … as always, I take inspiration from creating food in a more relaxed and accessible way. Our new menu will have a modern entity which will offer beautifully grounded and accessible cuisine” - Des Harris, Executive Chef, Pilkingtons.

Being awarded a place in Metro’s Top 50 Restaurants 2015, national finalists in the Hospitality NZ Awards for Best Beverage List, Best Dish Over $25 and Best New/Redeveloped Bar or Restaurant - the hand-tooled joinery pieces sit alongside bespoke fabrics, natural stones and an abundance of greenery, creating a sophisticated atmosphere of celebration designed by award-winning Nat Cheshire. From the carved wooden bar to the tropical upholstery, ornate red ceiling and hand-blown glass light fittings – Pilkingtons literally is an oasis in the middle of Auckland’s inner city.
